The Brick Bible: A New Spin on the Old Testament

This is Jennifer Byram, Joel's wife. Are you considering this book because it is so exciting to see Bible stories depicted with Legos? I was! I was pretty shocked to see that anyone would have something negative to say about that to be honest. Some of the people who rated this book highly really mocked those who rated it poorly. People who liked it said the Lego Bible was very literal. Well, I love the Bible, and as a result, my kids love the Bible. I thought this sounded like a neat concept. UNTIL.... I CHECKED IT OUT! Go to this man's website PLEASE before you buy anything this man offers. Here are some of the titles on his website, word for word.... when to kill your children, God tortures Job, God tortures billions, God dooms his people, instructions for genocide, David impregnates six women, parable of the tortured debtor, God refuses to save Israel, punishment for incomplete genocide, gang rape and dismemberment, Samson commits arson and mass murder, massacre of the peaceful, unsuspecting people, sexual discharges, bestiality, transvestism, camp defecation, Saul rejected for seeking God's favor, Goliath attempts to limit bloodshed.... The message is obviously sarcastic, mocking, anti-God. It makes it look like anyone who believes the Bible is anti-semetic, pro-Nazi, pro-KKK (look at pages from New Testament about authority and Jews). He even takes the teachings of Jesus and twists it to say that people can only "be in" because they hate and are violent and even kill their families. Families who do not agree about Jesus are shown shooting and dismembering each other! Take a look in the Old Testament about "How to Keep the Law". One panel in the OT shows an angry newlywed with the caption about not pestering him at home. The picture depicts a Christian at his door asking him if he wants to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior. The newlywed is angry. This "Reverend" is big on hell and judgment, never mentions love or heaven. Is this the message you see when you read your Bible? If so, then you will love this man's work. Is this the message you want to give your adult friend or a child? Yes, there are graphic stories in the Bible. Yes, there is eventually judgment. Yes, there are sexual stories. Yes, there are many examples of people in the Bible who chose to do wrong. But "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved." This book will never help anyone to see the truth of God's Word.
